Ultrasound and Injection Therapies

We offer a full suite of ultrasound-guided injection therapies and MSK treatments, each designed to meet individual patient needs. At The Joint Effort Medical Clinic, our multidisciplinary approach ensures you receive a thorough assessment, accurate diagnosis, and the most effective treatment, all in one place.

Steroid Injections

Steroids (corticosteroids) are powerful anti-inflammatory medicines. These joint injections are given directly into the affected joint, tendon, or soft tissue to rapidly ease pain and swelling. Ideal for arthritis flare-ups and acute injuries, steroid injections deliver quick relief and restore movement.

Hyaluronic Acid

Ostenil/Ostenil Plus, Ostenil Mini and Durolane are lubricant injections containing hyaluronic acid, a substance that cushions healthy joints. In osteoarthritis, natural lubrication is lost, causing discomfort. By restoring this protective layer, Hyaluronic acid helps joints move smoothly again and delays the need for surgery.

Hydraulic Acid

Arthrosamid
(Knee OA Hydrogel)

Arthrosamid is a next-generation injectable hydrogel implant for knee osteoarthritis. Unlike traditional therapies, Arthrosamid integrates with the joint lining and remains active for up to two years, cushioning and protecting the knee for ongoing relief.

Platelet-Rich Plasma
(PRP) Injections

PRP uses concentrated growth factors from your own blood. Injecting PRP into a damaged joint, tendon, or ligament encourages natural tissue healing and helps manage persistent pain, making it a popular choice among athletes and patients seeking longer-term recovery.

Our Mission at The Joint Effort Medical Clinic

At The Joint Effort Medical Clinic, our mission is to provide expert, patient centred care for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions through comprehensive assessment, accurate diagnosis, and personalised management, including hands on rehabilitation and specialist procedures. We offer a truly multidisciplinary approach delivered by medically trained doctors, specialist physiotherapists, and sports therapists with over 40 years of combined experience across primary care, secondary care, and elite sports.

A wide range of treatments

Our team brings advanced skills in ultrasound guided diagnostics and injection therapy, offering a wide range of treatment options including corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid (Ostenil®, Durolane), and Arthrosamid®, a newer injectable hydrogel treatment designed to reduce joint pain and improve movement. These services are provided in a streamlined one-stop clinic, where patients are often assessed, diagnosed, and treated in the same appointment.

Training and experience

All clinicians at The Joint Effort Medical Clinic have undertaken extensive postgraduate training with renowned MSK and sports medicine experts. This enables us to deliver evidence based, yet patient specific care, personalised to each individual's goals, lifestyle, and stage of recovery.

Rapid Access to Expert Care

Having served the NHS for decades and continuing to do so, we share in our patients' frustrations of long waiting times, impersonal digital only services, and the bureaucracy that often delays investigations or scans. It's this shared frustration that inspired us to establish The Joint Effort Medical Clinic, investing our time, training, and resources to deliver rapid access to expert care, helping patients return to pain free movement and normal function as quickly and safely as possible.

At The Joint Effort, your health is our shared priority, because we believe recovery is a team effort.
